Variations between tables

The patterns defined will not be identical to your table. These shots were done on a 9-foot table. If you are playing on an 8-foot table, you will have to make an adjustment to the patterns. On a 7-foot table, these patterns are severely modified. Nonetheless, realizing that you CAN predict ball patterns and paths gives you a significant advantage.

There can be significant environmental variances between tables. Some of these are:

  • Not consistent in the 10:30, 12:00, and 1:30 hits.
  • Different stroke speeds.
  • Cloth thickness, age, wear and tear, cleanliness, etc.
  • Cushion condition, age, coverings, dead spots, etc.
  • Cue ball quality, cleanliness, roundness, etc.
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Table levelness
  • And any number of circumstances in and out of your control.
