CB location (M3), Target Diamond (I1)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
10:30 Analysis
The running English helps the ball do this "round-the-world" pattern. A target ball in the corner will get a legal hit. Because all the rails are running English, the ball will travel down to the diagonal corner. Practice this so you know what to expect.
12:00 Analysis
This follows the same "round-the-world" as the 10:30 shot, except the ball comes into the long rail first. It hits the short rail with reverse spin, which slows down the ball.
1:30 Analysis
The reverse spin is pretty much gone by the 3rd rail. This is a nice box pattern. On completion, it starts repeating the same path.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
