CB location (M3), Target Diamond (Q9 short)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
The reverse spin stays on the ball at the 2nd rail, which brings it back on a parallel line towards the side pocket. Although much of the energy is taken off the ball by the 3rd rail, the ball can continue towards the far corner pocket. This this for your table.
A little bit of running English is added at the 1st and 2nd rails. The ball reaches the foot rail and comes in with reverse spin. There isn't much energy left on the ball. Hitting the ball harder doesn't get much more distance either.
There isn't much room for running English to take affect on the 1st and 2nd rail. By the time the ball gets to the 3rd rail, it comes with reverse spin, There's still enough energy to get to the 5th rail, but not much further.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
