CB location (M5), Target Diamond (E1)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
This is close to a standard "round-the-world" shot with running English. It comes into the corner pocket and is close enough to pocket a jawed ball. Worthwhile practicing this - just to surprise your opponent.
This shot will bring the ball around the world and make sure to hit any ball a diamond short OR long from the corner. Because the ball picks up running English by the 2nd rail, the cue ball can easily travel down to the opposite diagonal corner. Play with this a bit so you know how it works.
The ball loses about half of it's reverse spin on the 1st rail and the rest of it on the 2nd rail. You can see the angle in and out on the 2nd rail are almost identical. At the 4th rail, the ball comes in on top of the center diamond of the short rail.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
