CB location (M5), Target Diamond (G1)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
This "round-the-world" pattern is useful to remember. Because it is 1 diamond short of the normal "sweet" spot for a 3-rail to the pocket, it comes in 1 diamond above the corner pocket.
Without the assist from running English, this does put the ball very close to the corner. The pattern is assisted by the running English added at the 2nd and 3rd rail.
Reverse spin helps bring the ball near the pocket, but coming in from the short rail. There is just enough reverse spin left on the 2nd rail to shift the path and make this happen.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
