Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
This is a clever way to get the cue ball to the opposite diagonal corner. The running English expands the angle to come up short of the corner. The ball hits the last rail with reverse spin, which keeps the ball in the area.
This sends the cue ball to the opposite diagonal corner. The ball picks up running English on the second rail. The pattern then returns the ball back into the first corner.
Sometimes another ball interferes with a simple 12:00 1-rail kick to the corner. Reverse spin is very often ignored as a way to control ball paths. In this situation, the ball goes straight to the corner pocket.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
