(S&D) Safety & Defense – Personalities: The Deliberate Player

(About the author)

Safety Toolbox (Advanced)

(This is today’s bit of advice from the book Safety Toolbox.)

This player is a careful shooter. He generally applies proper analysis to the table layouts. He usually picks the correct type of shot for the situation. He is not excitable by nature. Every shot follows a regular routine.

However, like all players, he can have playing weaknesses. Test his playing skills along with the limitations of his comfort/chaos zones. There could be a limit to his patience. Apply a series of tough shots and near-impossible layouts. Keep up the pressure. Maintain a constant watch on his reactions to the table layouts you are providing.

There are two possible indicators that tell when his mental capacity is exhausted. One indicator is when he takes longer to make a shot decision. This is a technique that attempts to use step-by-step sequential intentional actions. This indicates that he recognizes that his performance has decreased. The other is when he shortens the time used to make a shot. This is another indicator.
