(This is today’s bit of advice from the book Safety Toolbox.)
A player with this personality type likes to get things done quickly. He specializes in “lightning analysis” that rarely is well thought out. His shooting style reflects his attitude. He won’t have time to take time to get it right. He seems to wants to get the game over as quickly as possible. If you are a slow and deliberate player, you can get a first-hand example of the term “gnashing of teeth”.
Careful consideration is not part of his playing style. He makes snap decisions and instantaneous judgments. Conditions can be configured that force him to stop and think. He won’t like that.
Leave long and otherwise difficult shots. The more you can force him out of his routine, the more careless he becomes. Eventually, you can get him so frazzled that his analysis abilities disintegrate. He totally ignores any consequences of failure.
Early in the match, take a few innings and focus only upon leaving tough table layouts. If you can get him into a careless state of mind early, you win. Anytime he appears to start regaining control of his game, do another series of opportunity denial shots.
