CB location (M3), Target Diamond (A1 short)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
10:30 Analysis
Reverse spin brings the ball back to the center diamond on the short rail. The angle out has a little bit of reverse spin remaining which shortens up the angle off the 2nd rail. It does come back nicely to contact a big ball in the corner.
12:00 Analysis
Only a little bit of running English is added on the 2nd rail. The ball can come back up table.
1:30 Analysis
Running English pulls the ball tightly to the 2nd rail, which brings the ball back to the diagonal corner. The ball will travel back to the first corner.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
