CB location (M3), Target Diamond (O9)
Practice this TML pattern on your table until each one becomes a known and trustworthy shot.
Running English sends the cue ball back to the side and into the corner for any big ball target there. Coming into the 4th rail with reverse spin, slows down the ball.
If kicking to a ball on the spot, coming in from this direction will shock your opponent. It's a good way to reach a ball in the corner or near the side pocket. The ball will travel down to the corner pocket, but without much energy. A slight shift of the 1st rail contact will send the ball into the side pocket.
Reverse spin helps bring straighten out the path. There will be a small amount of reverse spin still on the ball, so it helps cover that row of diamonds.
Other Sized Tables
For 8 foot tables, the same type of pattern requires about 1-1/4 tips out from center to get the paths shown. For 7 foot tables, 1-1/2 tip out from center is necessary to follow the pattern. The distances on small tables are less, so when the cue ball travels around in a trapezoid pattern, the rail contacts are more distorted.
