If you march fifty Li (25 km) in order to outmaneuver the enemy, you will lose the leader of your first division, and only half your force will reach the goal. If you march thirty Li (15 km) with the same object, two-thirds of your army will arrive.

The lesser the time you spend on your selecting a shot, the fewer opportunities you will be able to recognize. If a normal evaluation routine averages 15 seconds to recognize and consider six options, if you allow 10 seconds you will identify three. If you allow five seconds, you will identify one.
