Drills & Exercises – CB Control Skills (Follow) – 4 Diamond forward

Instructions:
DONUTS: one of OB – one for CB, and one for the target location of the CB.

  1. Position the CB and OB. Pocket the OB and make the CB roll forward to the target location after contact with OB.
  2. Re-spot OB and CB and repeat until you can consistently get the CB within a ball width of the target.
  3. Move to the next setup. Repeat until you own each shot in this set.

Proof of competence: FIVE consecutive successful placements.

Suggestions: This can be done with different speeds. Because of table cloth friction, this can be difficult to predict. When you learn precision follow with slow speeds, increase the CB speed (but with enough reverse that wears off so that the CB only rolls the intended distance. This is also known as “Force Follow”.
